Workshops for Adults

Here you can find offerings for over 18s. These are generally held in the local community or as part of festival programmes.

I try to create explorative spaces where adults can question and ‘un-learn’ social scripts, become playful and reflective, and connect more authentically with themselves and others.

Previous workshops

  • This workshop for parents of teenagers considers how social media and digital technology affect self-esteem, wellbeing and relationships. It seeks to create a bridge between young people’s experiences and their parents’ worries. Based on research with focus groups of 10-16 year olds, this workshop gives parents an opportunity to gain new insights, share their concerns, develop strategies in relation to their children's relationship to digital technology, and gain confidence in talking to them about social media, cyberbullying, porn, sexting and more.

  • Drawing on eight years experience of running Relationships and Sex Education workshops for teenagers, this playful session aims to create a safe space for adults to ask the questions they wish they’d been able to ask, and wise up on anything from female anatomy to STI tests, from exploring sexuality to how to deal with rejection.

  • This fun and inclusive workshop uses simple partner dance exercises to develop participants’ communication skills and boundary setting, queering what we mean by ‘power’ and disrupting gendered lead and follow dynamics.

    Through the workshop we explore:

    • How might we move when not limited by social norms?

    • How might we listen when we lead? How can we develop agency whilst we follow?

    • How can we adapt to others whilst remaining authentic?

  • Building on discussions from our Unmapping Love’ podcast, this gently radical and uplifting workshop guides participants through creative reflection and discussion-based exercises. Inspired by relationship anarchy, post-capitalist and post-humanist philosophies, in this workshop we:

    • deconstruct normative hierarchies and scripts around romantic and sexual relationships;

    • recognise the multiplicity of both our needs and the relationships which support us';

    • broaden our sense of potential webs of connections, community and love.

  • In collaboration with SWOLE, this workshop is for anyone who would like to learn to live more in sync with their cycles, and to understand how this can support their wellbeing. This might be menstrual cycles, or the seasons of the year, different parts of the day, chapters in life.
